In my photography courses I do not assume to know everything about photography. But everything I do know, I would like to pass on to you. You will get ‘my take on photography’
In one-on-one courses the subject of the course is focussed on what someone specifically wants to learn. In group-courses I lay out my technical knowledge of photography from A to Z and, according to the length of the course, I discuss, explain and we practice different topics ranging from simple use of depth-of-field to perhaps the more complicated triangle of ISO-shutter speed-aperture and lighting techniques.
Apart from treating the necessary theoretical basics, a most important element in my course is ‘seeing the light’ and using or moulding, if you will, the light to your benefit. This includes adding artificial light, or bouncing it, or subtracting it. Next important is subject matter and composition.
For the course you need to bring your own camera (DSLR) and, if you have one, a tripod and, if you have one, an external flash. I will be using my (Canon) camera and will bring along my external flashes (Canon) and some my studio-equipment. Anyone at the course without an external flash may use one of mine.
The course will be at an intermediate level, so knowing a minimum of the basics of photography is required. Just as I don’t assume to know everything of photography, likewise it will be okay if there is a basic that a participant doesn’t know about photography. I will find the time to discuss the subject matter separately.
